When we decided to make an action movie at the beginning of this semester, nobody probably imagined that it would be such a demanding task ... just to get two minutes of serious action onto film. Sure, we are not trained stuntmen and stuntwomen, no trained specialists in martial arts, but willing to give our best. Would that not be enough?
We will see.
What looks cool in the movies is not always logical. Or easy to do, for that matter.
Hannes and Sven try out a trick.
Suffice it to say that we eventually split a simple sentence of the script that reads "And they fight each other expertly..." into more than 70 individual shots. No wonder we were behind our schedule by the middle of the last day of filming. Though, in all fairness, we started at 7 a.m. and the weather conditions were not exactly favorable.
Get down and dirty!
Yes, that's filmmaking, too.
My trusted assistant Jule and yours truly.
By the end of the day the sun that we needed so urgently for our closing scenes DID come out. If that helps to bring our message across, well, we will see about that, too.
All that is left to do now is the cutting.
Piece of cake.
Is that really the end?
Don't bet on it!
